Open Event:  The CMHA invites parents and carers to the launch of Mental Health Difficulties in children and Young People: a Toolkit for Parents. This has been  produced in collaboration with leading mental health organisations, designed to help you support the mental health of children and young people.

Concern for the mental health and wellbeing of our children and young people is at an all time high. One in six children (5 in every classroom) has a diagnosable mental illness (source ), while mental health services continue to be stretched. Join us for a conversation about how we can better understand, protect and support their mental health.

We will hear personal stories and expert insight from Place2Be, Young Minds and The Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People. Learn about the signs to look out for, how to respond, support and direct to the treatments available to help their recovery.

Speakers:

  • Dr Susanne Meisel, Clinical Psychologist, South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust
  • Judah Racham, Programme Leader Learning and Practice Department, Place2Be
  • Roxane Caplan, Head of Parent Services, Young Minds
  • Sean Maywood, MHFA Instructor, PwC
  • Angie – a Young Minds Activist shares her story
  • Caroline Styant, Managing Director Head of HR EMEA, Morgan Stanley
  • Alison Unsted, CEO, CMHA UK

The CMHA has written this toolkit with members PwC, Morgan Stanley and the Bank of England.
