The transition from education into the workplace and the first few years of anyone's career bring intense change and new challenges. It can be stressful, and there is a risk that new mental health conditions can start, old ones can be triggered or existing ones can worsen. The global pandemic and the associated experiences have added to the stress facing young professionals.
Businesses have the opportunity and responsibility to protect and support the positive mental health of young people during this time. This is especially important as the longer-term impacts of the Coronavirus epidemic is felt.
MindForward Alliance UK helps businesses to protect, support and create positive mental health for their young people through our Early Careers Health Programme. It includes seminars, training and guidance that will help organisations to challenge mental health stigma, while equipping them with the skills and knowledge to manage and support their young employees. We also established the Thriving From The Start Network, which is a mental health network, run by and for people in their early career.
